I have spent my life noticing the tiny things.

 

Growing up in North Cornwall, I spent a great deal of my childhood in nature, be it in the woods, or walking along the coastline. Observing the skeleton lines in a leaf, the tiny bubbles in a stream where the water meets the stones, cobwebs, ferns, the spirals on a snail shell, peeling paint and beautiful sea worn rust, all fill me with joy. When I was seven I picked up my first camera and I've been obsessed with trying to capture these amazing tiny pieces of beauty ever since.

About 6 years ago after dislocating my thumb for the 5th time, my physio recommended that I try drawing small details, as a way to strengthen my hand. Little did I know that it would lead me to my Inky Creations and open a new way of interpreting all these beautiful patterns and shapes that I had observed through my camera lens for years.

I lose myself and find myself in this work. It brings me immense joy and immeasurable calm to create them.
